Southern Woman

We are on our third day of just enough rain coming off Hurricane Alex. It made landfall as a Category two, filled with water and a bit of wind. We really needed some rain here in the Houston area, so I am fine with that.
Did you know that in the Native American ways, there are two rains? Male and Female...The male is hard and heavy, penetrating, and the female is soft and gentle, cleansing and fulfilling.
We've had just enough Male Rain, time for some Mama Rain..... :)
Happy 4th of July and may your Indepence always be special to you. Remember all those fighting men and women!
Love ya lots, Kay

Stretching Time Spell

Cool deal!Stretching Time Spell

Stretching Time Spell
July 1
Thursday

Color of the day: Green
Incense of the day: Jasmine

Today marks the halfway point of the year. Where are you in terms of everything you wanted to accomplish? A little behind, maybe? Time hard to find? Whenever you need some extra time to finish a project, gather together a yellow candle, a purple thread, and some bergamot oil. Anoint the candle with the oil and set in a holder somewhere it can burn down safely. Run the purple thread between your hands and say the following:
As a spider spins her web
Eternally sheĆll stretch her thread.
As that thread, let this time be
Stretched as long as I shall need.
By Arachne and Ariadne
And by my will, so mote it be!
Wind the thread around the candle, tie it off, and light the candle. Get to work, and note how much you can get done before the flame goes out!

Fusion......Fusion?

I was raised on Hillbilly music through my dad. Hank Williams, Johnny Cash, Patsy Cline... and, my mom loved Your Hit Parade Music; Rosie Clooney, Gogi Grant, Frank Sinatra, and she fell for Elvis BIGTIME the first time we saw him on TV, one Sunday night.
When I was a teenager, it was totally Rock & Roll. I hated Country music! Wouldn't you know; I married a C& W Guitar Picker! LOL
But I have always just loved music and the History of music. The first music they pretty well know of and have been able to pin down, ironically enough was made with Russian Steppes Mastodon skull drums and others of their bones as sticks. Markings made on a few of the skulls with red ocher etc seem to point to a percussion sounding board . How cool is it that this Url will lead you to Russian/Irish/African Fusion/melding of those sounds!? Please enjoy. Crone or not, I am still on the prowl for cool music....Be Bop a Lula, Ya'll! :)

Their Site keeps showing up as an illegal address, but I get to it each time, It won't post correctly on this Blog, grrrrrrr. It's worth a listen if you enjoy music melding! :)

Right Side of the Dirt Today!

If you are staring mortality in the face daily, and can still take care of your own personal 'bidness' without another pair of hands to help, and you woke up on the right side of the dirt today; consider it a great day, ok? LOL

You hear things said about how the heat and humidity in the deep South are so beneficial to women's skin, how it hydrates and keeps your skin moist and soft to the touch. As far as I personally can tell, we were handed another magick bullet that shot blanks. I have so many lines and carven images in my face, and it's from squinting into the 8 months of brutal sun we must fight every year, and from scrubbing the rivers of sweat off my face before they run down my throat and into the old cleavage, causing itchy places that you gotta get to; SOMEHOW!
Can you tell? I despise wet heat. I hate having gills, foundation does nothing to cover them! :)

But 'Living', where ever beats the hell out of not being. :)
Be back soon, ya'll! Hang out with me.
